2. Tango Eye (Chennai based AI startup)
Tango Eye converts CCTV data into actionable insights. Founded in 2018, Tango Eye uses AI and Computer Vision to deliver a SaaS (Software as a service) solution that utilises existing CCTV cameras to measure social distancing, improve sales conversion, optimise product placement and monitor SOPs across retail outlets.
This venture has raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding led by Delhi-based eyewear retailer Lenskart, which entered the elite unicorn club last year.
The startup also helps retailers with merchandising, product placement, and to implement and track SOPs. This includes staff attendance, regular cleaning and sanitisation, social distancing among others.

E-vaadikkai was launched to solve these problems and help retailers grow their business online, he adds. At present, the SaaS application has over 100 retailers listed on its platform.
Ubifly is a Chennai-based Startup, branded as The ePlane Company, which builds electric planes and UAVs for delivery and short-range intra city travel to redefine urban mobility. Soaring population, encroachments, traffic problems, and infrastructure problems are major concerns for Indian roadways. The startup ideated out from the National Centre for Combustion Research & Development Lab (NCCRD).
5. Ippo Pay
IppoPay, one of the other startups in Chennai is a payments aggregator that enables small businesses, SMEs, freelancers, and homepreneurs in Tier II, III, and rural areas to collect payments with its POS software. It was launched by Mohan, a fisherman’s son, amidst the pandemic in June 2020.
The fintech platform lets businesses accept payments via its POS software. It also helps businesses to get invoices along with statistics on business, engagement with customers, and more. IppoPay needs no payment terminal, POS, or swiping machine. Merchants can generate QR codes using its mobile app. IppoPay directly targets merchants and vendors, exposing them to digital payments with its simple, user-friendly interface.
The founder claims that the platform has done transactions to the tune of Rs 1 crore within two months of launch. It is seeing month-on-month growth of 40 percent, with the pandemic “only adding to growth rather than impacting it negatively”
